Introduction
We support many devices with our automated provisioning service but realize there are many other SIP devices used for specialized purposes by our customers. Devices that have not been validated on our platform may still operate with basic capabilities if manually configured. This document outlines a general approach for manual provisioning of SIP devices on the Hosted PBX platform.
Disclaimer: Configuration and troubleshooting of these devices is the sole responsibility of the customer. Please consult with the device manufacturer for product and provisioning support, as our team will be unable to assist.
Device Configuration
Factory Reset
The first step is to factory reset the device. This ensures a clean configuration in which to apply the required settings. Please consult your device manufacturer’s instructions for the appropriate steps.
Settings
There are several settings required for a device to operate successfully on our platform, and each must be entered to enable service.
- SIP Server
This will always be kmvoice.com. - Outbound Proxy
If a device is behind a Session Border Controller (SBC), then this should be set to the private IP of the SBC (10.10.10.1 with our standard deployment). Otherwise, this should be set to hosted-kmvoice.avpaas.io. - VLAN ID
This is 180 with our standard deployment but will vary based on the network configuration.
The values below are unique per device and will be provided by a Unified Communications representative.
- Line Address
Unique identifier for the device on our platform. May be displayed as “Username” in some device management interfaces. - Auth Username
SIP username to be used for device authentication. - Auth Password
SIP password to be used for device authentication.
